Ben Carlson Profile

Ben Carlson hit his third homer to help Mahoning Valley to a 7-4 win over Tri-City in the New York-Penn League.

Carlson (.219) hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning and Casey Frawley (.316) followed with his second homer of the year.

Carlson, a first baseman with power potential, has struggled to make the adjustment to wood bats and better pitching since being a sixth-round draft choice of the Cleveland Indians in June. He still has time this month to make some adjustments and is working with Scrappers manager Travis Fryman to improve his pitch selection.
